The Prime8" is refined into what we determine to be an export quality product. This year also sees the development of the FBK (Floating Brake Kit) for the DH bike and the SPI (Stable Pivot Interface) system that is standard on all our suspension bikes.

SPI is a system Patrick developed to attach the swing arm to the frame simply and efficiently. All of this without a drop of thread lock on the bolts, just a tiny bit of grease for even easier removal! It reinforces Patrick’s faith in low maintenance bikes.

While living in the UK, Patrick meets Carl and Scott Geeson, who had followed the development of the Prime8" and had displayed prototypes of the Morewood at the World Cup in Fort William. They later form Ample Racing in the UK and place an order late in 2002. It’s Morewood’s first export order and a milestone for the team as the bike goes on to get great reviews in MBUK and Dirt magazines. Producing the Prime8" in numbers proves to be quite difficult due to the complexity in the construction of the swing arm. next
